The first league match of the season will now be at Dingwall after much deliberation by the football authorities. This of course sees us pitched in against 1st division opposition when we have just spent the whole pre-season period preparing a squad to compete in and hopefully, win the second division.

All of our preparation was in anticipation of the lower league including the opponents we have travelled the country to watch, with prior notice of the changes then I would have been at different grounds eying up our likely opponents. All of this means we are at a disadvantage to the other Clubs in the 1st Division and with a 16 man squad we need to add at least 3 players to have any chance of surviving. Some of our mainstay players were allowed to seek clubs elsewhere after the end of the season but now our expectations for the coming season have to be realistic and under the circumstances, simply staying up is the target this term.

For Saturday, we have Paul Lovering and Marc Smyth suspended and will add a couple of our under 19s to the squad for our visit to Ross County. Normally, we would travel up on a Friday but with the uncertainty, we will head up north on Saturday morning hoping to take something positive from the game.

Now that the season proper is about to get underway it is time to shift the focus onto football, sadly that has not been the case over the past while.
