Looking at the Airdrie maps NO Mill St ,,Ilived at 19 Mill Street , the gas works was in this street and opposite was the council yard,,round the corner was our hang out the Royal Cafe,,WHAT HAPPEND TO MILL STREET,,??

It's still "there", apparently it's now home to some glass building that's a health center or something. My dad (who also stayed in Mill St told the progress as it was getting built).

Hi Sloany,,thanks for the reply,,your dad must have lived in the same building as we did ,,We lived there in 1956 till about 1963 I used to play the trumpet so if he is my age he should remember me ,,I was 18 years old in 1958,,

Think my dad may well have lived there after you. I saw my first days on Mill Street back in 67. You'd be exactly 10 years younger than my dad is now. And we didn't move far, less than a stones throw from old Mill Street. I spent many a day messing around at the old paterson's yard there that's now the sheltered housing complex.
